My Story

Breton Animal Wellness grew from Breton Equine Wellness, expanding our holistic approach to support both horses and dogs.

Breton Animal Wellness grew from a deep, lifelong connection with animals and an understanding that true wellbeing goes beyond the physical body alone. What began as Breton Equine Wellness has naturally evolved, expanding the same trusted, holistic approach to support both horses and dogs.

Over years of working closely with animals, it became clear that stiffness, tension, behavioural changes, and performance issues are rarely β€œjust physical.” Animals carry experiences, stress, and emotion in their bodies β€” and when those layers are acknowledged and supported, meaningful change can occur.

This work is grounded in listening, observing, and responding to what each animal needs, rather than applying a one-size-fits-all approach.

Our Philosophy

At Breton Animal Wellness, we believe animals are sentient, emotionally aware beings whose behaviour and movement are forms of communication. Discomfort, resistance, anxiety, or withdrawal are often signals β€” not problems to be corrected, but messages to be understood.

Our approach is calm, respectful, and animal-led. Sessions are guided by trust, nervous system awareness, and the belief that when animals feel safe and supported, their bodies can soften, adapt, and rebalance.

We work with animals, not on them β€” creating space for both physical ease and emotional regulation.

Experience & Training

Our work is supported by professional training and ongoing experience in holistic animal bodywork. This foundation allows us to work confidently, ethically, and responsively with a wide range of animals and situations.

Training includes:

  • Diploma in Equine & Canine Myofunctional Therapy

  • Certified Equine & Canine Acupuncture

  • Red Light Therapy

  • Kinesiology Taping (animal and rider support where appropriate)

  • Australian Bush Flower Essences for Animals

Holistic bodywork complements, but does not replace, veterinary care. We value collaboration and are always happy to work alongside vets and other allied professionals when supporting your animal.

Who This Work Is For

This work is for people who see their animals as partners and companions, not just bodies to be fixed. It’s for those who value connection, consent, and a deeper understanding of what their animal may be experiencing.

Whether your animal is a performance partner, a much-loved companion, ageing, recovering, or simply not quite themselves, our sessions are tailored to meet them where they are β€” physically and emotionally.

Every animal has their own story, history, and way of moving through the world. At Breton Animal Wellness, we honour that individuality and support each animal with care, patience, and respect.

If this approach resonates with you, we would be honoured to support you and your animal on their journey.
